2hrs/ 2 flights . Last two flights of 2017 at Cliffside (near Rufus,OR) 12/31/17



My last flight of 2017 ended at Cliffside with about 20 PG pilots and one hang (Neil C). I landed at 4:50 pm (10 min before sunset).  1st flight: 30 min , 2nd flight : almost 2 hours from 3 to 4:50 pm. No traffic issues, as there was plenty of wide open lifts for everyone to enjoy.  Thermals were more active in the morning (while I was hiking up) than in the afternoon, but did turned back on again around 2:30 pm.  It was easy to stay a few hundred feet above launch after 3pm.  Air temperature was around 25-28F (-4 to -2 C).  Thanks again to Nat for the ride up to launch for my second flight.  Happy New Year, everyone!

2 hours scenic flight at Dog Mtn. (Glenoma, WA) 12/20/17

Such a beautiful day flying over snow covered at Dog mountain! I soared above the north ridge for almost two hours enjoying the stunning view. with 5 hangs (Gabe D,  Eric O, Sunny Jim, Scott C). The sky cleared up with more blue skies when l arrived at 11am.  I launched first at 1pm with a lot of gusty east wind (cross from the right side).  Lifts were strong and it wasn't hard to get 400 to 600ft above launch..   The top of lift about 1,100ft above launch. I thinks I flew for over 2 hours and everyone landed east.  Thanks to all the 4x4 trucks guys getting us up to launch.  Will post vid later.
