Really nice day at Dog. Dave L flew early afternoon in
SW conditions. Travis, Stas and myself arrived launch around 4:30pm and
it was gusty 10-18mph with switchy N/NE conditions at launch. We
launched north side in strong thermal cycles around 5:30pm and climbed
up to 1,500 to 2,000ft above launch quickly. We went to the radio towers
and I left the towers at 4,000 ft to Elk. Good lifts at Elk that easy
to maintain 3,000 to 3,600 ft. It drifted east a bit in the thermals
at Elk so I didn't want go down to the Cliffs. I went back to Dog an
hrs later and didn't find anymore 1,000 fpm thermals. Flew back and
forth from radio towers to Elk few times and landed at 8:15pm (almost 3
hrs).
