1 flight 4 hrs / An Epic day at Oceanside 04-04-15

The morning session started at 9:30am with Eric , Paige and myself trimming bushes at the bottom & side of Cape Lookout launch. Neil, Enrique and a group of paragliders showed up later to speed up the process. Thanks to David Le and Eric O for organizing this event. We worked till 12:30pm and headed to Oceanside.

The wind at Oceanside launch was SSW 10-15mph and it was warm and sunny. In other words, a perfect spring day for flying at the coast. I launched around 1:30pm right after a few paras and easily climbed up to 1100ft MSL quickly. The highest altitude I got was 1400ft MSL. The lift band was huge so everybody spread out. Ray launched 30 mins later, and as usual he stayed consistently a few hundred ft above everyone and flew the longest distance. At one point I though he flew to Tillamook or Cape Lookout.... There was plenty of lifts to keep everyone enjoying the sky. I flew for 3 hours and 45 mins with multiple trips to Happy Camp , Seal Rocks , back ridge.... Eric & Paige (hang pilots) finally came around 6:00pm. The wind at launch was down to 3-5 mph when they were ready to launch with no one in the air. Eric launched first and they both were able to soared a couple hundred feet above launch till sunset. Ray mentioned yesterday that the conditions at Oceanside was the most epic that he has ever seen in many years. What an amazing day!

Btw, Thanks Ray B and David Le taking the photos of me!
