Area B (Warrenton, Oregon) report 1 of 2
Fort Stevens State Park (Warrenton, Oregon Hammond, Oregon)
I launched at 11:30am at parking lot A (shallow lower dune). Windspeed was 10- 12mph a bit cross from right WNW but soarable once I turned right. Highest I got was 130 ft at the north parking lot B over a steeper dune. I had the whole dune to myself until an hour later when a PG showed up at parking lot B. By this time, I've already had 4 flights from the parking lot A to the north end and back. Going to get some lunch now will fly again later. Winds is more straight now and got stronger. It has been sunny since I got here at ,9am. PG John Kraske reported back from TDM, saying that the wind was on his back....acrobatic? Maybe from the big cell that passed at 1:00 pm.He texted me back again 30 mins ago (2:15) said CLO is on now. I think Im going to stay at Area B for the rest of the day.

It was non stop dune soaring at Area B yesterday from 11:30 to 7:00pm. I used up two GoPro batteries and sim card memory, missed counting the number of flights I had (approx 8 to 10). I did a lot of speed glide skimming close to the dunes. The condition remained stable WNW (slightly cross from the right) between 10-15 mph until sunset. 3 more PGs (Brad, Maren and ??? ) joined me in the late afternoon; total of 4 PGs and myself flew Area B yesterday. It was sunny all day unlike the forecast mentioning chance of rain. Squalls finally came right after I got done packing around 8 pm. Can't wait to do this again!
