Dog Mt 5/11/19) Report
4 pgs (Kim Smith, David Le, Vince Price, Nick Kedev ) had a morning short flights before the winds speed increased to 15-18mph gust after 12pm through sunset. Approx 10-15 hangs flew after 12. I got almost 6 hrs air times yesterday 5/11/19. Launched at 12 and 5pm , flew over 2.5 hrs on each flight. First flight I was doing a lot of distance trips in low altitude to Elk, Back Bowl to test the glider. We can only get 300-400ft above launch, typical mid afternoon Dog conditions. Trashy thermals at back bowl , SW rotors at Elk, gusty SW winds and rowdy at the LZ ....etc. I heard some pilots whack on landings and few broken downtubes. Second flight was epic, the winds remained strong west with much better thermals. l got up to almost 5,000ft behind launch with Eric Ollikainen and Kory McEniry and went to radio towers, Elk.... Luis Ramos flew to Elk for his first time.... Great day.
