It was pouring rain this morning from Portland to the coast but sunny and blue skies when l arrived Cape Lookout launch at 10:15 am. The winds were already blowing 10-15+mph and a lot of white capes on the ocean as I was setting up. Once again the wind dummy, I punched off first at 11:30 am and quickly ascended to 1,000 ft above launch with plenty of lifts everywhere. I think everyone else launched between noon - 1 pm and also quickly ascended in the air. The weather was super active during the flight. We had a mixture of: sunshine, strong & calm conditions, over developed clouds, clouds that consumed thermals, few light showers, ice pellet squalls, and wind gusts of 30+mph. I was able to make it to the end of the Cape , North Point and Netart Bay... Max alititude 3,000ft. The winds got stronger later at between 1,500 to 3,000ft. I decided to land after 2.5 hours struggling with strong winds and the crazy weather. Ray was the last to land. All of us landed great in front of the gazebo in NW and NNW direction. Another memorable flying day at Cape Lookout.
