2 flights 45 mins @ Cliffside 10/28/16

Hang gliding at Cliffside (near Rufus, OR)  on Oct 28, 2016

Today at Cliffside, three hangs (Gabe , Nat and myself) and approx 20+ paragliders showed up to fly. I arrived around 8:30 am to dropped off the glider at launch and started hiking up after parking my car by the river.  The winds were zero the entire morning with cloud base  below launch level.  The sun was trying to break through a few times but barely cleared off around 11:30am with no wind at launch.  I took a sledder at 12:00 in dead calm condition and landed by the river. Thanks to Gabe for stopping by in giving me a ride back to launch.  The cloudbase was rising more and the winds were still a bit light (cycling 3-6 mph east) when we'd returned to launch. A few paragliders took sledders and others were waiting. The soarable condition came around  3:15pm and everyone soared. We all worked with some lite ridge lifts together just like last weekend with a lot of busy air traffic.   I flew for 40 mins topped out a couple hundreds ft above launch. I think the lifts got even better later but darkness arriving earlier now, can't stay to enjoy it. Today wasn't too bad, another good Cliffside day with light ridge lifts.

1 sled ride at Top Peterson 10/25/16

The winds were blowing light NW 2-3mph (Bad direction) when we arrive Top Peterson LZ at 11:30.  It was pretty much dead calm with some light west (90 degree crossed) winds when we ready to launch around 2pm. . Only me and Craig took a sledder. Winds at the lz were a bit coming from the NW when we landed at 2:30. Gabe decided not to fly.

1.5 hrs flight at Cliffside 10/23/16

Five hangs (Nat, Alex, Stas, Jonathan, myself) and approx 20-30 plus paragliders showed up today at Cliffside.  It turned on around 2pm through sunset and it wasn't difficult to stay up at a few hundred feet above launch with pure ridge lifts; however, it was important to pay attention to the very BUSY air traffic and remain close along the ridge above Hwy 14. I flew for almost 1.5 hour.

2 flights 4 hrs at Cliffside 10/22/16

GREAT day at Cliffside. There were 8 hangs (Luis, Stas, Gabe, Kory, Jeff, Mark R, Neil and myself) and 30 to 40 paragliders came out to play. Congrats to Luis getting his first flight at Cliffside.

1st flight 12:30 to 2:30
2nd flight 4:00 to 6:00

total of 4 hrs air times.

Gabe report:
Flew the t2 for the first time ...what have I been waiting for ??can't belive how awesome it flies..lots of pg in the air  but plenty of thermals to play around in..Rick, Neil, Stas, and Louis flew, with Kory and Jeff arriving around 2ish..had to make a birthday dinner so I left early.. I'm sure they got it for the 2nd flight..bottom petersons looks great on Tuesday..I'm planing on getting out there but we see how the forecast holds..

It got even better after you left Gabe!  To start with, some got up onto the big hill, and then later it glassed off and we were getting up to windmill height over the hang launch.  There was solid lift in some odd places. Down by the river, landing almost at sunset, we had to work to get down.

2 flights one hour air time at Cliffside 10/19/16

Cliffside  (near Goldendale, Wash) turned on around 4:30pm today. I flew from 5 to 6pm on my 2nd flight. The air was smooth and light (less than 10mph) ; a very easy climbed up to 200ft above launch. I shared the ridge with 10 other PGs for an hour.  Mark Rabe and the new H2 Craig Meyer, both had 4 sledders.  We all landed by the river. It was a great day!

4.5 hrs flight at Cliffside Oct 11th 2016

Cliffside (near Goldendale, Wash)  was very good today.  I launched at 12:45 with approx 10-13mph winds,  landed at 5:20pm (over 4.5 hours of air times).  There were a lot of smooth widespread lifts above the windmills that allow me to go further east.  Highest altitude was about 4K ft AGL (3K Above launch).   Temps between 40-50’s . I crossed the river few times to Oregon side.  Mark Rabe and Nat came later and both launched around 4:30 and landed around the same time l landed. It was windy and gusty at the lz by the river. Two paragliders still in the air when l left.  I'll post video later.
