4 hrs air time at Rampart (Snoqualmie Pass, Wash) 09-14-16

Rampart did produce an easy soaring condition again. There were seven hangs (Glenn Duval, Tim Cayward, Robin Briejer, Travis, Chris Tarnawski, Rick Weber and myself) showed up and had another successful day. Winds were just right for take off (8-13mph at launch) and landing. I launched last at 2:00pm and notice that the air was smooth with easy workable lift up to 6500- 7000ft. Easy trip to the second wall for everyone. The thermals became even more stable after 4pm. Just lifty everywhere from LZ through the end of the second cliff wall. Tim and Robin made it to Alta. Congrats to Rick Weber (from Eugene Oregon) getting his first EPIC flight at Rampart. I flew for 3 hours and 50 minutes. Robin and Tim flew for 4 hours and other were up for at least 2+ hours. We all could fly till sunset. Thanks Robin , Tim and Rick W for driving.

Where did all the paragliders go? The condition has been paragliding friendly this summer every time I go to Rampart but for some reason I don't see any paragliders this year???
