Hang gliding flight report (Nov 9th,2019 at Bingen, Washington):
Bingen (near Hood River, Oregon) gave 2 hang gliders (Neil Clark & myself) a great soaring flight this afternoon. The wind speed was PG friendly, approx 5-13mph NW and WNW most of the time at launch (west is a better direction for Bingen). Surprisingly no paraglider show up. I launched first at 1pm followed by Neil shortly. It was about 3-8mph light cross from WNW when we launched so it took us a while to get above launch. There were a lot of consistent broken thermals at the lower ridge but it only goes up to a couple hundred ft above launch level. We landed an hour later around 2pm and it was quite a turbulence and gusty crosswind from NW at the LZ. No white capes on the river.
