This morning I passed by Sollie (Tillamook, Oregon) around 10:30 and launch was under the clouds. CLO was dead calm and no beach for landing in sight (12ft waves & high tide at 11AM). After 1.5 hrs waiting at Cape Lookout launch without any improvement, a few PGs and l had decided to go check out Sollie again around noon. Carmela and I went up to Kilchis first as the winds appeared to be coming from NW. There were no winds at Kilchis launch and NW light cross wind were blowing 50 ft above launch, so we figured Sollie was likely a safer place to launch. There were more than a dozen PGs para-waiting at Sollie launch. Unfortunately, light cycles were coming from behind launch from north sometime. I setup anyway to do a sledder. PG Dave Blizzards did a forward launched first and got up above launch in front. I did a slightly tail wind launch after Dave and turned left to follow his pattern and felt a lot of lifty bubbles. Although the launch conditions were worst than yesterday, there were surprisingly plenty of broken thermals in front making it a lot better in comparison. I flew to Sugar Hill after a while and found much wider thermal band and less rowdy air. The wind flag at the LZ showing light west winds. Thermals were quite smooth over at Sugar Hill and easy to maintain 1,400ft with a few thermals that elevated me to 1,800 ft a couple of times. I flew with a few paragliders over Sugar Hill for over 2 hrs, landing at 4:15 pm at zero wind ( had launched at 2 pm). What an unexpected day! Special thanks to Carmela for the ride to launch again, couldn't have done it without her. Some pgs reported CLO never turn on.

3 Hangs (Carmela , Chelsea ,me ) and about 6-8 Paras flew Sollie (Tillamook, OR) today. There was no winds at the LZ and extremely light breeze at launch. It was almost soarable between 2:30 - 3PM. Only one paraglider was able to soar and l think his name is Ozs?? (sorry I'm bad with names). He launched around 2:30PM before us. Chelsea and Carmela got an extended sledder and I went under Ozs on the left side ridge and we had few good climbs of several hundred feet but mostly l just managed to maintain to launch level until I got too close to the tress and left. Ozs was able to get above launch for a while. No wind and lift over Sugar Hill and dead calm at the LZ. I think I got almost 30 mins air time today.
