Cliffside Thursday report:
This morning I was supposed to head over to Oceanside, but decided to fly Cliffside instead due to better forecast. Two hang gliders (Stas & myself) and about 6 pgs showed up. We both (hangs) had two soarable flights; mine being close to 3 hrs long with lifts better on the second flight. We launched around 5pm and flew for 2 hrs. There were plenty of ridge lifts and thermals in front of launch but only went up to 1,800ft and a bit rowdy. Wind turbines was facing more NE after 5pm, so we couldn't bench up to the top. Towards the end, Stas hit a solid thermal over the river as he was heading to land and shot up to 2,800ft , which extended his flight. Another great day of flying at Cliffside! I'll be at Oceanside tomorrow through the weekend.
