30 mins flight at Bingen 4/15/17

Congrats to hang pilots Xan and Neil for getting in their first flight at Bingen!  There was about 10 paras and 4 hangs who showed up on this beautiful day. The average wind speed at west launch was about 0-5  mph, and at the LZ was about 0-3 mph blowing out from East , SSE and SE.  Most of the paras launched from the SE launch due to wind direction and it appears that the morning session group got over a thousand feet above launch. I punched off first at 1:30pm and never got above launch and had to do a lot of scratching in front of SE launch for about 30 mins. Mark Rabe launched around 2:15pm and repeated my pattern. Xan and Neil launched later and did much better. I think Neil flew for almost 2 hrs and got up to 5,000 ft.  We all landed at the east direction, but everyone had great soft landings.

Btw, some local pilots mentioned that everyone must use the Courtney Rd trailhead and hike 3/4 miles to west launch ( approx 1/2 mile to SE launch). There aren't any access on the backroad shortcut unless you're a friend of a homeowner living within the community.  Also, no parking on Courtney Rd trailhead too, so do bring along a driver the next time.
